Robb's old fashioned raisin pie

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cupDark seedless raisins
1 1/2 cupFresh orange juice
1 cupBoiling water
1/2 cupGranulated sugar
1/2 cupLight brown sugar, packed
3 tbspCornstarch
1/2 tspGround cinnamon
1/4 tspGround cloves
1/8 tspSalt
2 tspGrated lemon rind
2 tspGrated orange rind
2 tbspFresh lemon juice
2 tbspButter
1 Egg, well-beaten
1 Pastry for 2-crust pie
Procedures:
1Add raisins to orange juice and boiling water, simmer until tender (3-5 minutes).
2Combine sugars, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt; stir into hot raisins.
3Cook slowly, stirring constantly, to full rolling boil; boil 1-2 minutes, or until transparent and thickened.
4Remove from heat.
5Blend in lemon rind, orange rind, lemon juice and butter, stirring well.
6Allow to cool slightly.
7Blend in beaten egg, stirring well.
8Pour warm filling into pastry-lined pie pan.
9Cover with lattice strips, weaving strips into basket-weave pattern.
10Bake in 425°F oven for 30-40 minutes, or until pastry is brown and filling is bubbling.
11Serve slightly warm, plain, or with whipped cream.
