Ingredients:
| 1/4
| cup | Olive oil | | 1
| med | Onion, chopped | | 1
| | Garlic clove, minced | | 1
| lbs | Canned whole tomatoes | | 1
| tbsp | Julienned basil leaves | | | Salt, pepper | | 1
| cup | Dry white wine | | 1
| lbs | Fish fillets | | | - cut into large chunks | | 1/2
| lbs | Shrimp, shelled & deveined | | | French bread (optional) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Heat oil in large saucepan or dutch oven. | | 2 | Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is tender. | | 3 | Add tomatoes and their juice, basil, 4 cups water and salt and pepper to taste. | | 4 | Bring to boil over high heat. | | 5 | Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. | | 6 | Add wine, fish fillets and more water, if necessary. | | 7 | Return to boil. | | 8 | Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. | | 9 | Add shrimp. | | 10 | Cover and simmer 5 minutes, or until shrimp turn pink. | | 11 | Serve in large bowls with french bread, if desired. | | 12 | Makes 4 to 6 servings |
