Jewish apple cake

Ingredients:
3 cupFlour
2 1/2 cupSugar
1 cupApplesauce
4 Eggs
1/3 cupOrange juice
2 1/2 tspVanilla
3 tspBaking soda
6 Granny smith apples
2 tspCinnmaon
5 tbspSugar
Procedures:
1Beat together the first 7 ingredients until smooth.
2Peel and thinly slice apples.
3Add sugar and cinnmaon to the apples.
4Put a thin layer of batter on the bottom of a prepared tube pan, then a layer of apples, more batter, more apples and top off with remaining batter.
5Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
6( you may want to put a layer of alumium foil over the top during the last 15 minutes of baking to avoid too much browning).
