Ingredients:
4 Game hens, about 1
-pound each
1 tbspFive-spice powder
2 tbspHoisin sauce
1 tbspPlum sauce or duck sauce
2 tbspBlack bean paste
-or chili sauce w/garlic
1 tbspSherry
Salt to Taste
1 tbspMaple Syrup
1/4 cupDark soy sauce
Procedures:
1Wash hens and pat dry.
2Mix five-spice powder, hoisin, plum sauce and black bean paste and sherry.
3Rub cavities of game hens with half of this mixture, and skins with the other half and salt.
4Refrigerate overnight.
5preheat oven to 350 °F.
6Mix soy sauce and maple syrup and rub into the skins.
7Roast back up for 30 minutes, then turn breasts up and roast another 30 minutes or until golden brown.
8Serve with pan juice.
