Ingredients:
1 lbsHot bulk pork sausage
1/8 tspSalt
1 1/2 lbsLean ground beef
1/8 tspPepper
3/4 cupRegular grits
1/4 tspGarlic powder
14 ozJar pizza sauce
10 ozShredded Cheddar cheese
1 Med. onion, chopped
1 largeGreen pepper, chopped
Procedures:
1Brown sausage and ground beef in a large skillet, stirring until it crumbles; drain well.
2Cook grits according to package directions; spoon into a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
3Combine pizza sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
4Layer half each of pizza sauce, meat, green pepper, onion, and cheese over grits.
5Repeat layers, omitting remaining cheese.
6Cover and bake at 325 °F for 25 minutes.
7Add remaing cheese and bake uncovered, an additional 5 minutes.
