Ingredients:
1 1/3 cupIdaho Instant mashed potato
-flakes, divided
1 lbsGround beef
1 Egg, beaten
3/4 cupMilk, divided
1/4 cupCatsup tablespoon
1 tbspWorcestershire sauce
1 tbspInstant minced onion
-flakes
1 tspSalt, divided
1/4 tspPepper
1 1/4 cupHot water
2 tbspButter or margarine
1 tbspDried chives
2 sliceAmerican cheese, diagonally
-cut in half
Procedures:
1In large bowl combine l/3 cup potato flakes with ground beef, egg, l/4 cup milk, catsup, worcestershire sauce, onion, ?teaspoon salt and pepper.
2In shallow microwave-safe dish shape mixture into a loaf, about 8 inches long.
3Cover loosely with waxed paper; cook on medium-high 9 to 12 minutes, turning dish once.
4Remove loaf to microwave-safe serving plate.
5Meanwhile in microwave-safe medium bowl combine water, remaining milk, butter, chives and remaining salt; stir in remaining potato flakes.
6Cook on high 3 to 4 minutes or until bubbling.
7Stir; let stand 1 minute; stir again spread potatoes over loaf to cover.
8Top with cheese.
9Cook on high 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
10makes 4 servings.
