Baked brussels sprouts au gratin

Ingredients:
1 quartBrussels sprouts
2 tbspButter
1/2 cupGreen onions, chpd
1 tbspFlour
1/2 sliceBacon
1 1/2 tspGarlic, chpd
1 1/2 tspParsley, chpd
1 cupWater, reserved from cooking
1/2 tspSalt
1/8 Pepper
1/2 cupCheddar cheese, grated
2 1/2 tbspBread crumbs
Procedures:
1Preheat oven 325°F.
2Wash and "x" bottom of brussels sprouts.
3Place in boiling water, enough to cover.
4Boil and simmer 10 mins or until tender.
5Drain and reserve 1 c hot liquid.
6Melt butter in sm skillet.
7Add green onions and saute 3 mins.
8Stir in flour and cook until flour is dissolved, 3 mins.
9Add bacon, garlic and parsley.
10Cook 3 mins more.
11Pour in reserved water.
12Add salt and pepper.
13Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened to consistency of heavy cream remove bacon from sauce.
14Place sprouts base down in a buttered casserole.
15Pour sauce over.
16Top wih grated cheese then breadcrumbs.
17Bake 30 mins or until top is browned.
