Ingredients:
Leftover ham bone
-salt -- to taste
1 lbsPinto beans, dried
Procedures:
1Recipe by: cynthia ewer preparation time: 0:20pepper -- to taste 2 quart rinse and sort pinto beans.
2Place in large bowl and add water until beans are covered 3 inches deep.
3Soak overnight.
4Next morning, place ham bone and soaked, drained beans in crock pot; add water to cover.
5Cook on high for 6 to 8 hours, until beans are tender and meat has separated from bone.
6Carefully remove ham bones and fat, returning slivers of meat to beans; season to taste.
7To freeze: place bone beans in freezer containers.
8Freeze.
9To prepare: thaw beans completely before heating.
10Heat in saucepan over medium heat until hot.
11Serve with cornbread and green salad! each freezer container,
