Ingredients:

| oz | Ghirardelli Mint Chocolate | | | -Wafers | | 3/4
| cup | Butter, softened | | 2/3
| cup | Sugar | | 1
| | Egg | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1 1/3
| cup | Unsifted flour | | 3/4
| cup | Finely chopped walnuts |

Procedures:
| 1 | Directions: melt 5 oz of the mint wafers in a double boiler, stirring constantly or microwave on medium for about 3 minutes. | | 2 | Set aside. | | 3 | Cream butter with sugar, egg and salt. | | 4 | Mix in melted chocolate. | | 5 | Gradually add flour. | | 6 | Chill dough at least 1 hour. | | 7 | Shape dough into balls, using 1 level tbsp for each cookie. | | 8 | Roll balls into nuts. | | 9 | Place on greased baking sheets. | | 10 | Flatten slightly with the palm of hand. | | 11 | Bake at 350°F for only 8 minutes. | | 12 | Remove from oven and place mint wafer on top of each cookie, pressing slightly. | | 13 | Continue baking 3 5 minutes longer or until cookie is firm. |
