Ingredients:

| cup | Sugar | | 1/2
| cup | Honey | | 3
| | Eggs, well, beaten | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Powdered sugar | | 1/2
| cup | Finely chopped blanched | | | -almonds | | 2
| cup | Flour | | 2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | | Grated rind 1 lemon |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cream shortening and sugar. | | 2 | Add honey, eggs, and lemon rind. | | 3 | Mix thoroughly. | | 4 | Sift flour, measure, and sift three times with baking powder and salt. | | 5 | Add chopped nuts and flavoring. | | 6 | Mix thoroughly. | | 7 | Pour into shallow, well-oiled pan. | | 8 | Bake in moderate oven (375°F) 12-15 minutes. | | 9 | Remove from oven. | | 10 | Cool. | | 11 | Turn onto board well dusted with powdered sugar. | | 12 | Cut in oblong bars. | | 13 | Roll in powdered sugar. | | 14 | 16 servings |
