| tbsp | Ground cinnamon | | 1/4
| tbsp | Ground nutmeg | | 1/8
| tbsp | Ground cloves | | 1/8
| tbsp | White pepper | | 1/3
| cup | BLUE BONNET Margarine | | | -softened | | 1/2
| cup | Sugar | | 1
| | Egg | | 1/2
| cup | Milk | | 1/2
| cup | PLANTERS Walnuts, finely | | | -chopped | | 1/2
| tbsp | Anise seed | | | Confectioners' sugar |

Procedures:
| 1 | In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, lemon peel, salt, spices and pepper; set aside. | | 2 | In large bowl, beat together margarine and sugar until creamy; beat in egg. | | 3 | Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. | | 4 | Stir in walnuts and anise seed. | | 5 | Drop dough by teaspoonfuls, 2" apart, on lightly greased baking sheets. | | 6 | Bake at 350°F. | | 7 | For 15-17 minutes. | | 8 | Cool slightly on wire racks. | | 9 | Roll in confectioners" sugar while still warm; cool completely. | | 10 | Makes 5 dozen cookies. |
