Ingredients:

| cup | Sugar | | 2
| | Eggs | | 1
| cup | Bananas, ripe, mashed | | 1/2
| cup | Buttermilk | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | 3
| cup | Flour | | 1/2
| tbsp | Baking soda | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| cup | Nuts, chopped | | | THIN ICING | | 1
| cup | Sugar, confectioners | | | -sifted | | 1
| tbsp | Milk, water or cream | | | -to 2 T | | 1/2
| tsp | Vanilla |

Procedures:
| 1 | Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly. | | 2 | Stir in bananas, butter- milk, and vanilla. | | 3 | Measure flour by dipping method, or by sifting. | | 4 | Stir flour, soda, and salt together; stir in. blend in nuts. | | 5 | Chill one hour. | | 6 | heat oven to 375°F. | | 7 | Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough two inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. | | 8 | Bake about 10 minutes, or until delicately browned. | | 9 | If desired, frost with a thin confectioners" sugar icing. | | 10 | icing: mix sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth. | | 11 | -- betty crocker"s cooky book per sam waring |
