Banquet nut wafers

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cupSugar
5 tbspWater
2 eachEgg whites
1/2 tspFlavoring
Cream of tartar
Banquet wafers
Procedures:
1Boil sugar and water without stirring until syrup spins a thread.
2Pour very slowly over stiffly beaten egg whites and beat until smooth.
3Add little cream tarter, amount that will lie on end of knife blade.
4Allow to stand a few minutes, then spread on banquet wafers and sprinkle with ground nuts.
5Put in hot oven to brown.
6Note: hot oven is 400 - 450°F.
