Ingredients:
1 cupSugar
2 cupFlour, all-purpose
1/2 tspSalt
1 tspSoda
1 tspCinnamon, ground
Procedures:
1Ts ginger, ground ?ts cloves, ground ?c shortening ?c molasses 1 egg; slightly beaten sugar combine 1 cup sugar, flour, salt, soda, and spices; stir lightly.
2Cut in shortening to resemble coarse crumbs.
3Stir in molasses and egg.
4Shape dough into 1" balls, and roll them in sugar.
5Place on ungreased baking sheets; bake at 350 °F for 10 minutes.
6Remove from baking sheets immediately.
7(cookies will firm quickly as they cool).
