Quaker's: peanutty crisscrosses

Ingredients:
3/4 cupMargarine, softened
1 cupPeanut butter
1 1/2 cupFirmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cupWater
1 Egg
1 tspVanilla
3 cupQUAKER Oats uncooked
-(quick or old fashioned)
1 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 tspBaking soda
Granulated sugar
Procedures:
1Beat together margarine, peanut butter and sugar until creamy.
2Add water, egg and vanilla; beat well.
3Add combined oats, flour and baking soda.
4Cover; chill about 1 hour.
5heat oven to 350°F.
6Shape dough into l-inch balls.
7Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with tines of fork, dipped in granulated sugar, to form crisscross pattern.
8Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
9Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
10Cool completely.
11Store in tightly covered container.
