Ingredients:
CABBAGE ROLLS
8 largeGreen cabbage leaves
1 cupCooked long grain rice
1/2 lbsGround beef
1/2 lbsGround pork
1/2 tspSalt
1/8 tspPepper, freshly ground
1/4 tspThyme
1 cupOnions, minced
1 largeEgg, beaten
SAUCE
1 cupTomato juice
1 cupWater
2 Beef bouillon cubes
1 cupOnions, chopped
2 tbspFresh parsley, chopped
Procedures:
1Cook cabbage in 4 quarts boiling, salted water, 5 mins.
2Drain.
3Combine remaining cabbage roll ingredients.
4Divide into 8 equal portions.
5Wrap each portion in a cabbage leaf; tie w/string.
6Sauce - combine all ingredients in lg.
7Skillet.
8Add cabbage rolls; bring sauce to a simmer over med. heat.
9Cover and cook, turning occasionally, 1 hr.
10Discard string.
11Serve rolls w/sauce.
