Ingredients:

| cup | Sugar | | 1/3
| cup | Butter or margarine | | 1/4
| cup | Honey | | 1/4
| cup | Pure maple or maple flavored | | | -yrup | | 1/2
| tsp | Ginger, ground | | 1/4
| tsp | Cinnamon, ground | | 1/4
| tsp | Cardamom, ground | | 1/4
| tsp | Cloves, ground | | 1/4
| tsp | Nutmeg, ground | | 3
| cup | All-purpose flour | | 1
| | Egg | | 1
| | Egg, beaten |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a large saucepan, combine sugar, butter or margarine, honey, syrup and spices. | | 2 | Bring to boiling. | | 3 | Remove from heat; stir in ?cup of the flour and beat with a wooden spoon until smooth. | | 4 | Cool. | | 5 | Beat in 1 egg; stir in remaining flour. | | 6 | Cover and chill thoroughly. | | 7 | Let dough stand at room temperature until soft enough to roll. | | 8 | On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8" thickness; cut out with 2" round cookie cutters. | | 9 | Place on greased cookie sheet; brush with beaten egg. | | 10 | Bake in 375 degree oven for 7 to 8 minutes; remove cookies to a wire rack. | | 11 | Cool. |
