Ingredients:
| 1/2
| cup | Butter or margarine | | 1
| cup | Sugar | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| | Egg -- beaten | | 2
| cup | Rice Krispies | | 3/4
| cup | Dates -- chopped | | 1/2
| cup | Pecans -- chopped | | 2
| cup | Coconut (or 3) -- shredded |

Procedures:
| 1 | Melt butter, add sugar, salt, and egg. | | 2 | Cook until thick. | | 3 | Add dates and continue cooking about 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly. | | 4 | Pour over rice krispies and nuts. | | 5 | Stir until well blended. | | 6 | Drop by teaspoonfuls into a bowl of coconut. | | 7 | Roll ball to cover with coconut and place on waxed paper. | | 8 | Cool 30 min. store in an airtight metal container. | | 9 | Cookies may be rolled in chopped pecans instead of coconut. |
