Pecan fingers

Ingredients:
1 cupDark brown sugar
1 cupSoft butter
1 Egg
1/2 tspVanilla
2 cupSifted all-purpose flour
1 Egg, well beaten
1/2 cupDark brown sugar
1 cupCoarsely chopped pecans
1/2 cupDark brown sugar
Procedures:
1Heat over to 350°F.
2Lightly grease a jelly-roll pan 15x10x1 inch.
3Combine 1 cup sugar and butter and cream until fluffy.
4Add 1 egg and vanilla and beat until well blended.
5Add flour and work into creamed mixture until well blended.
6Spread in prepared pan.
7Brush with beaten egg.
8Sprinkle with ?cup sugar then with nuts and then with remaining sugar, spreading evenly over top.
9Bake 20-25 minutes or until nicely browned.
10Cook in pan and cut into fingers to serve.
11Note: dark brown sugar gives the best flavour in this recipe but any brown sugar will be satisfactory
