Ingredients:

| cup | Butternut squash | | 2
| cup | Sweet potato, peeled & diced | | 3
| med | Apples, peeled & chopped | | 1
| med | Onion, chopped | | 2
| cup | Water | | 1/2
| tsp | Sea salt | | 1/2
| tsp | Chinese 5 spice | | 1/4
| tsp | Cayenne pepper |

Procedures:
| 1 | Bring the vegetables, apples and water to a boil in a saucepan on high heat. | | 2 | Reduce the heat and simmer 30 minutes, or until all the vegetables are tender. | | 3 | Add the seasonings and use a blender to process the mixture. | | 4 | Heat in the saucepan again on low heat until hot. | | 5 | Keeps 3-5 days refrigerated. | | 6 | *original recipe by david tinker, vancouver chef | | 7 | jeanne marie martin, "vegan delights" |
