Cheese and Onion Quiche

Ingredients:
Pastry Crust:
1 cupAll purpose flour
1 tbspButter
1 tbspCorn oil
2 tbspWater, cold
Filling:
1 tbspButter
1 Onion, large
3 Eggs, large
4 tbspCream, whipping
4 tbspGrated Gruyere cheese
Procedures:
1PASTRY CRUST:
2Sift the all purpose flour into a mixing bowl.
3Combine with the corn oil, butter and a dash of salt. Mix well until the texture resembles bread crumbs.
4Add the cold water, and mix well to form a dough. Knead lightly and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
5FILLING:
6Chop the onions into cubes.
7In a frying pan, saute the onions in butter. Set aside.
8In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs well. Add the cream and grated gruyere cheese and mix well.
9QUICHE:
10Roll out the pastry dough in an 8-inch round baking dish.
11Spread the fried onions on the bottom of the pastry crust.
12Pour in the egg and cheese mixture. - Bake in a preheated oven for approximately half an hour - until the filling has set. Temperature of oven should be set at 400 degrees Farenheit. Garnish with chopped chives or parsley.
