Ingredients:
BASE
1 3/4 cupAll-purpose flour
3/4 cupSugar
1 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspSalt
3/4 cupMargarine or butter, softened
FILLING
1 1/4 cupPowdered sugar
1/2 cupMashed potato flakes
1/2 cupWater
1 tspCinnamon
1/2 tspCardamom
1 Egg
1 Tube (7 oz) almond paste

Procedures:
1Heat oven to 37Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
2In large bowl, combine flour and remaining base ingredients; blend until crumbs form.
3Press half of mixture in ungreased 13x9" pan.
4Reserve remaining mixture for topping.
5In large bowl, combine all filling ingredients; blend well.
6Spread over base; sprinkle reserved mixture over filling.
7Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes or until light golden brown.
8Cool completely; cut into bars.
