Pecan icebox cookies

Ingredients:
1/4 lbsUnsalted butter, softened
1 cupDark brown sugar (packed)
1 Egg
1 tspVanilla extract
2 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 cupChopped pecans
Procedures:
1In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
2Beat in the egg and vanilla.
3combine the flour, baking soda and salt and sift into the butter mixture.
4Blend thoroughly.
5Stir in the pecans.
6shape the dough into a roll 2 inches in diameter.
7Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or for up to 1 week.
8preheat the oven to 350 °F.
9Using a sharp thin knife, cut the dough into ?inch slices and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
10Bake in the center of the oven for about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned and set.
11Transfer to wire racks to cool.
