Ingredients:

| | large fresh chicken, cut up | | 1
| tbsp | vegetable oil | | 3
| cup | hot water | | 1/2
| tsp | salt | | 1

| | medium sized carrots, cut into 1 inch slices(about 1 cup) | | 2
| | large potatoes, cut into 1-1/2 inch slices(about 1-1/4 cups) | | 1
| | medium sized turnip, cut into 1-inch slices(about 1 cup) | | 1
| | stalk celery, cut into 1 inch slices (about 1 cup) | | 1/4
| cup | chopped onions | | 1
| | cube chicken bouillon cubes | | 1
| tsp | salt | | 1
| | bay leaf | | 1/2
| cup | cold water | | 2
| tbsp | all purpose flour |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a Skillet, pan-fry the chicken in oil for about 15 minutes or until chicken is brown. | | 2 | Add the hot water, salt and a pinch of pepper | | 3 | Bring to a boil; reduce heat. | | 4 | Cover and simmer for about 2 hours or until chicken is almost tender. | | 5 | Stir in carrots, potato, turnip, celery, onion, chicken cube, salt and the bay leaf. | | 6 | Cover and simmer about 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. | | 7 | Remove bay leaf. | | 8 | Shake cold water and the flour in tightly covered container. | | 9 | Gradually stir into stew. | | 10 | . Heat to boil, stirring constantly. | | 11 | .Boil and stir 1 minute, reduce heat. | | 12 | . Cook uncovered 10 minutes. | | 13 | . Cover and cook 10 minutes longer. |
