Seaweed Straws

Ingredients:
  • 375 g Puff pastry
  • 2 Sheets Nori leaf seaweed
  • Egg wash; 1 egg yolk and a
  • ; little milk
  • Coarse sea salt
  • Flour for dusting
  • 25 g Wasabi paste
  • Black pepper; crushed
Procedures:
Preheat the oven at moderate - hot 200C/400F/gas 6.

Divide the pastry into 3 and roll each piece out giving 35 x 13cm. Brush
each piece with egg wash and with scissors cut the seaweed Lightly and
quickly dip the seaweed into a little water to moisten and place on top of
a piece of pastry.

Carefully spread the Wasati paste over the top and place a second layer of
pastry on top, to form a sandwich.

Brush the top of the pastry with a little egg wash and sprinkle the coarse
sea sant and crushed black pepper over the top. Lift the pastry with care
and twist to form a spiral. Place onto a baking tray and cook for 12
minutes approximately.
