Watermelon punch

Ingredients:
1 cupSugar
1 cupWater
1/2 smallEvenly-shaped watermelon
1/4 cupBrandy
1 can(12 oz) lemon-lime soda
Ice cubes
1 tspShelled pine nuts
Procedures:
1In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil; cool.
2Scoop watermelon with a melon baller; discard seeds.
3Pour sugar syrup over watermelon balls.
4Scoop remaining watermelon; squeeze in a clean cloth to extract juice.
5Combine watermelon balls, watermelon juice, and brandy; chill.
6Cut the upper edge of the watermelon shell in a saw-tooth design and use as a punch bowl.
7Just before serving, add watermelon mixture, soda, and ice cubes to watermelon shell.
8Sprinkle with nuts.
9Makes 10 to 12 servings.
