Ingredients:

| cup | Unbleached Flour | | 2
| cup | Brown Sugar, Firmly Packed | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Baking Soda | | 2 1/2
| cup | Granulated Sugar | | 4
| tsp | Salt | | 3
| cup | Vegetable Shortening |

Procedures:
| 1 | Sift dry ingredients together into a large bowl, mixing well. | | 2 | With a pastry blender, cut shotening into dry ingredients until evenly distributed. | | 3 | Put into a large airtight container and label as basic cookie mix. | | 4 | Store in a cool dry place and use within 10 to 12 weeks. | | 5 | Makes about 16 cups of mix |
