Nanaimo bars - revisionist

Ingredients:
3/4 cupButter & 1 tbsp
5 tbspSugar
5 tbspCocoa
1 tspPeppermint extract
1 Egg
2 cupGraham cracker crumbs
1/2 cupVanilla pudding
2 cupSugar, icing
2 ozChocolate, unsweetened
Procedures:
1Heat ?cup butter, sugar, cocoa and peppermint in saucepan.
2Beat in egg and stir till consistency of custard.
3Remove from heat and stir in crushed graham crackers.
4Press mixture into greased 8" square pan.
5Cream together ?cup of remaining butter, the pudding and icing sugar.
6Spread over graham cracker layer.
7Melt chocolate with remaining 1 tbsp butter, then pour over second layer.
8Let sit for a few minutes, then refrigerate for 1 hour before cutting.
9This recipe does not use the traditional custard powder and therefore may be used by those who are unable to obtain custard powder (ie.
