Ingredients:
Pie Shell
2 Egg Whites
1 quartCoffee Ice Cream
1/4 tspSalt
1 quartChocolate Ice Cream
1/4 cupSugar
1 1/2 cupAlmonds, Finely Chopped --
Or pecans
CARAMEL SAUCE
2 tbspButter
1/2 tspVanilla
1/2 cupBrown Sugar, Packed
2 tbspNuts
1/4 cupHalf And Half
Procedures:
1Heat oven to 400°F beat whits to soft peaks.
2Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating 1 minute after each addition to form a stiff meringue.
3Fold in nuts.
4Spread into well-buttered 9-inch pie pan w/ sides extending over the rim.
5Bake 10 minutes or untill lightly browned.
6Remove & cool.
7Fill w/ icecream; cover tightly; freeze.
8In saucepan, melt butter; stir in sugar and cook until dissolved.
9Slowly mix in half & half and cook one minute, stirring constantly.
10Stir in vanilla & nuts; cool slightly.
11When ready to serve, pour over the frozen pie
