Koulourakia (special occasion cookies)

Ingredients:
2 cupAll-purpose flour
1 tspGround cinnamon
3/4 cupVegetable oil
3/4 cupSuperfine sugar
3/4 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspBaking soda
1/4 cupBrandy
1 cupSesame seeds
Procedures:
1Preheat the oven to 400°F.
2Combine the flour and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside.
3In a medium bowl, beat the oil and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
4In a cup, dissolve the baking powder and baking soda in the brandy, then add to the oil mixture.
5Gradually add the flour until the dough is soft but not sticky.
6Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth.
7Pinch off pieces of dough the size of small walnuts and form into desired shapes.
8Sprinkle with sesame seeds and place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheets.
9Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
