Kourambiethes (powdered sugar cookies)

Ingredients:
1 cupButter, softened
1/4 cupPowdered sugar
1 Egg yolk
1/2 tspSoda
2 tbspWhiskey
3 cupAll-purpose flour (to 3-?
Whole cloves
Powdered sugar
Procedures:
1Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add egg yolk.
2Combine soda and whiskey; add to creamed mixture.
3Add flour, 1 cup at a time; mix and knead by hand, adding enough flour to make a soft dough.
4Shape as desired into crescents or oblong balls.
5Insert a whole clove in center of each cookie.
6Bake on ungreased cookie wheets at 350 °F for 20 to 25 minutes.
7Dust generously with powdered sugar while cookies are warm.
