| cup | Yogurt | | | Grated orange rind (1 | | | -orange) optional | | 1
| tsp | Baking powder | | 3
| tbsp | Brandy OR | | 1
| tbsp | Vanilla extract | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 3
| cup | Flour, sifted |

Procedures:
| 1 | Serves: 8 combine yogurt, orange rind and salt. | | 2 | Dissolve soda in brandy and add enough flour to make a pancake like batter. | | 3 | Cover and set aside in warm place for one and a half hours, or until raised and bubbly. | | 4 | Stir batter. | | 5 | Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil. | | 6 | Deep fat fry until golden brown, turning once. | | 7 | Drain and serve with diluted honey, cinnamon, chopped nuts or toasted sesame seeds. | | 8 | Serve warm. |
