Ingredients:
1 9" Unbaked Pie Shell
TOPPING
1/2 cupUnbleached Flour
1/3 cupSugar
1/3 cupBrown Sugar, Firmly Packed
1/2 tspCinnamon, Ground
5 tbspButter
FILLING
1 1/2 lbsCooking Apples, *
1 tbspLemon Juice, Fresh
6 ozCheddar, Md, Shredded, 1 ?C
4 tspUnbleached Flour
1/4 tspNutmeg, Ground
Procedures:
1* use a cooking apple such as granny smith"s.
2Core, peel and thinly slice the apples.
3++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ make a high rim around the pie crust.
4Combine all the dry ingredients in the topping and cut in the butter until crumbly.
5Set aside.
6Toss the apples and lemon juice together and add the cheese, flour, and nutmeg, tossing and mixing well.
7Arrange the apples in the crust and sprinkle on the topping.
8Bake in a preheated 375 °F.
9Oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
10Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired
