Light custard eggnog

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cupSugar
1/4 cupFlour
1/8 tspSalt
4 eachEggs
2 eachEgg whites
8 cupMilk, skim
2 tspVanilla extract
1/8 tspNutmeg, ground
1 cupWhiskey (optional)
Procedures:
1Scald milk.
2Whisk together sugar, flour, and salt in heavy 6-qt saucepan.
3Add eggs and egg whites and whisk until smooth.
4Gradually whisk in milk.
5Cook over low heat, stirring with wooden spoon, 15 minutes or until custard is thickened and just coats the back of the spoon.
6Remove from heat and refrigerate.
7The custard will thicken as it cools.
8When cold, stir in vanilla, nutmeg, and whiskey.
