Ingredients:

| cup | Milk, skim | | 2
| tsp | Vanilla extract | | 1/8
| tsp | Nutmeg, ground | | 1
| cup | Whiskey (optional) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Scald milk. | | 2 | Whisk together sugar, flour, and salt in heavy 6-qt saucepan. | | 3 | Add eggs and egg whites and whisk until smooth. | | 4 | Gradually whisk in milk. | | 5 | Cook over low heat, stirring with wooden spoon, 15 minutes or until custard is thickened and just coats the back of the spoon. | | 6 | Remove from heat and refrigerate. | | 7 | The custard will thicken as it cools. | | 8 | When cold, stir in vanilla, nutmeg, and whiskey. | | 9 | Nutritional information: 187 calories, 9 gm protein, 2 gm fat, 34 gm carbohydrate, 137 mg sodium, 74 mg cholesterol |
