Kapusta kiszona z grzybami

Ingredients:
1 ozMushrooms, dried
-(or use about
-?lb fresh mushrooms)
1/2 cupWarm water
1 largeOnion
2 1/2 tbspButter
1 1/2 lbsSauerkraut, rinsed
-and drained
1/3 cupWater
2 tbspFlour
Salt and pepper
Procedures:
1Soak the dried mushrooms in ?cup of warm water for 1 hour.
2Saute mushrooms and onion in butter in a skillet 3 minutes.
3Add sauerkraut to mushrooms; cook and stir for 10 minutes.
4Blend 1/3 cup water into flour.
5Mix with sauerkraut and simmer for 15 minutes.
6Season to taste with salt and pepper.
7Notes: * stewed sauerkraut with mushrooms -- this recipe could be used as part of a 12-course meal known in polish as wigilia, or on its own.
8Wigilia is eaten after sundown on christmas eve.
9This tastes better if you make your own sauerkraut (but that"s another recipe).
10* i usually like to add ?cup of dark rum after cooking.
11That reminds me of the recipe i have for bigos (similar in construction but with more ingredients).
