Noel christmas fudge

Ingredients:
2 cupSugar
3/4 cupMilk
1 tspKaro syrup (corn)
1 tspVanilla
2 tbspButter
1 cupDiced red or green candied
Cherries
1/2 cupChopped nuts
Procedures:
1Mix together sugar, milk, and corn syrup in saucepan.
2Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3When a drop form in a firm ball in cold water, remove from heat.
4Stir in butter and vanilla.
5Let cool.
6Beat well with a large spoon until mixture loses gloss.
7Quickly stir in conadied fruit and nuts.
8Pour into buttered 8 or 9 inch square pan.
9When set, cut in squares.
10Variations: for chocolate fudge, stir 4 tbsp cocoa into sugar before adding milk.
11For peanut butter flavor, substitute 3 tbsp peanut butter for the butter.
12Use chopped or diced dates, if desired, or coconut instead of fruits and nuts.
13Wrap in foil to store.
14This is an excellent fudge which keeps well.
