Ingredients:

| cup | Sifted flour | | 3
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| cup | Yellow cornmeal | | 1
| cup | Milk | | 2
| | Eggs, beaten | | 1/4
| cup | Honey , or maple syrup | | 1/4
| cup | Butter, melted or bacon dri |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. | | 2 | Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. | | 3 | Add the cornmeal and stir until well mixed. | | 4 | In another bowl combine the milk, eggs, honey or maple syrup, and the butter or bacon drippings. | | 5 | Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and stir just until all are moistened. | | 6 | Pour the batter into an oiled 8 inch square baking pan and bake about 20 minutes or until done in the center and lightly browned. | | 7 | To test for doneness insert a toothpick or cake tester in the center. | | 8 | If it comes out dry the corn bread is done |
