Old fashioned corn bread

Ingredients:
1 cupSifted flour
3 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspSalt
1 cupYellow cornmeal
1 cupMilk
2 Eggs, beaten
1/4 cupHoney , or maple syrup
1/4 cupButter, melted or bacon dri
Procedures:
1Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
2Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3Add the cornmeal and stir until well mixed.
4In another bowl combine the milk, eggs, honey or maple syrup, and the butter or bacon drippings.
5Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and stir just until all are moistened.
6Pour the batter into an oiled 8 inch square baking pan and bake about 20 minutes or until done in the center and lightly browned.
7To test for doneness insert a toothpick or cake tester in the center.
8If it comes out dry the corn bread is done
