| cup | Shortening | | 2
| cup | Buttermilk |

Procedures:
| 1 | Dissolve yeast in water. | | 2 | Into a bowl, sift flour with other dry ingredients. | | 3 | Cut in shortening, add buttermilk, then add yeast mixture. | | 4 | Stir until all flour is dampened. | | 5 | Knead on floured board a minute, roll to desired thickness, and cut with a biscuit cutter. | | 6 | Bake at 400 degrees about 12 minutes. | | 7 | Dough may be kept refrigerated and used about a week |
