Ingredients:
8 1/2 ozTempeh, cut to small cubes
3 tbspVegetable oil
1 medOnion, chopped
2 eachGarlic cloves, minced
1 tbspFennel
1 tspChili powder
1 tspCoriander
1 tspCumin
1/4 tspCayenne pepper
1 eachGreen pepper, chopped
2 tbspTamari
2 tbspLemon juice
3 tbspMolasses
2 tbspCider vinegar
1 tbspMustard powder
6 tbspTomato paste
1 cupWater
4 dashTobasco sauce
Procedures:
1Saute onions, garlic & spices till onions soften.
2Add peppers & tempeh chunks & continue to saute for 5 minutes or so.
3Transfer to a shallow baking pan.
4Whisk together the sauce ingredients (tamari, lemon juice, molasses, vinegar, mustard, paste & water).
5Add to the vegetables.
6Bake for 30 minutes at 350f for 30 minutes covered & then for 30 minutes uncovered.
7Stir frequently throughout.
8Serve on rice with coleslaw or stuff into pita.
