California tamale pie

Ingredients:
3/4 lbsGROUND BEEF
2 1/2 cupMILK
2 eachEGGS
1 cupYELLOW CORN MEAL
14 1/2 ozCAN, TOMATOES, WHOLE, CUTUP
7 ozCAN, WHOLE KERNAL CORN
1 packLAWRY'S CHILI SEASONING
1 tspGARLIC POWDER
1 tspCHILI POWDER
6 ozGRATED CHEDDAR CHEESE
2 tbspYELLOW CORN MEAL
Procedures:
1Drain and cut up the tomatoes.
2Drain juices from the can of corn.
3In a medium skillet, brown the ground beef and drain off the fat.
4In a medium bowl, combine milk, 1 cup cornmeal and eggs.
5Blend well.
6Add beef and remaining ingredients, except for the cheese and twotablespoons of cornmeal.
7Stir to blend.
8Pour into lightly greased 12 x 8 x 2 baking dish.
9Bake, uncovered, in a 350 deg f oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
10Sprinkle with cheese and remaining cornmeal.
11Continue baking for 15 minutes or until cheese melts.
12Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
13Serve with fresh salsa.
14Hint: one package of lawry"s taco seasoning may be used instead of the chili seasoning
