Arizona chuck wagon beans

Ingredients:
1 lbsDried navy or pinto beans
1/4 lbsSalt pork, diced
1 Garlic clove, minced
1 1/2 lbsChuck steak, cubed
1/2 tspOregano, crumbled
1/4 tspGround cumin
6 cupWater
1 largeOnion, chopped
1 largeGreen pepper, chopped
1 1/2 tspSalt
1/4 tspRed pepper
8 ozTomato sauce
Procedures:
1Pick over beans and rinse well.
2Combine beans and water in a large kettle.
3Bring to boiling; cover; cook 2 minutes.
4Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour then pour into slow cooker.
5Brown salt pork in a large skillet; remove with a slowtted spoon to cooker; saute onion, garlic and green pepper in pan drippings; remove with slotted spoon to cooker.
6Brown beef, a few pieces at a time in pan drippings; remove to cooker with slotted spoon; stir in salt, oregano, red pepper, cumin and tomato sauce.
7Add more water, if necessary to bring liquid level above beans.
8Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours, or until beans are tender
