Ingredients:
1 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour
2 tbspSugar
2 tspBaking powder
1 tspGround cinnamon
1/2 tspSalt
1/4 tspGround cloves
2 Eggs---separated
1 cup+3 Tbs skim milk
3 tbspOil
1 cupFinely chopped unpeeled
Procedures:

2Beat egg whites ( at room temperature) at high speed of an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
3Set aside.
4Combine yolks, milk and oil in a large bowl.
5Beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until well blended.
6Add flour mixture, stirring just until moistened.
7Stir in apple.
8Gently fold egg whites into flour mixture.
9Coat waffle iron with cooking spray.
10Allow waffle iron to preheat.
11Pour ?cup pf batter per waffle onto hot waffle iron.
12Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops...
13Cider syrup: combine all ingredients in a small, heavy saucepan.
14Place over medium heat and cook for 20 minutes or until reduced to ?cup...discard cloves and cinnamon stick....makes ?cup..
