Melt in your mouth biscuits

Ingredients:
2 cupALL PURPOSE FLOUR
4 tspBAKING POWDER
2 tbspSUGAR
1/2 tspCREAM OF TARTAR
1/2 tspSALT
1/2 cupSHORTENING
2/3 cupMILK
1 eachEGG, SLIGHTLY BEATEN
Procedures:
1Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt.
2Cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3Make well in center of mix; add milk all at once.
4Stir until dough clings together.
5Knead gently on a floured surface for 10 to 12 strokes.
6Roll or pat to a ? thickness: cut with 2 ? biscuit cutter using straight motion.
7Do not rotate the cutter.
8This will cause biscuits to flatter than desired.
9Bake on un-greased baking sheet for 10 to 12 minutes at 450 °F
