| 1 | Put salt in water and bring to boil. |
| 2 | Slowly stir in grits and return to boiling point. |
| 3 | Reduce to low heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. |
| 4 | Serve hot. |
| 5 | Top with a pat of butter and a little milk if desired. |
