Oatmeal muffins

Ingredients:
1 cupQuick-cooking oats
1 cupButter/sour milk
1 cupUnbleached flour, sifted
1 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspBaking soda
1 tspSalt
1/3 cupButter or regular margarine
1/2 cupBrown sugar, packed
1 eachLarge egg
Procedures:
1Combine oats and butter/sour milk in small bowl.
2Mix well and let stand 1 hour.
3Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside.
4Cream together butter and brown sugar in mixing bowl, using electric mixer at medium speed.
5Add egg; beat until light and fluffy.
6Add dry ingredients alterantely with oat mixture to creamed mixture, blending well after each addition.
7Spoon batter into greased 2 ?inch muffin-pan cups, filling 2/3rds full.
8Bake in 400 °F.
9Oven 20 minutes or until golden brown.
10Serve hot with homemade jam or preserves
