Ingredients:

| tsp | Salt | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1
| tbsp | Butter, melted | | 1/2
| cup | Milk | | 1
| | Egg, beaten | | 1/2
| tsp | Vanilla | | 1 1/4
| cup | Applesauce |

Procedures:
| 1 | Sift flour, salt and baking powder. | | 2 | Combine butter, milk and egg. | | 3 | Stir into flour. | | 4 | Add vanilla and applesauce. | | 5 | Beat well. | | 6 | Spoon batter onto a hot, well greased griddle, allowing enough batter to make 4 " cakes. | | 7 | When edges are lightly browned, turn and cook on second side. | | 8 | Serve hot with maple syrup or apple jelly and lots of butter. |
