Ingredients:
1 cupAll purpose flour, sifted
2 1/2 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspSalt
1/4 cupSugar
2 cupRaisin bran flakes
2/3 cupMilk
1 Egg
1/4 cupSoft vegetable shortening
1/2 cupSugar
1/2 tspCinnamon
2 cupCooking apples, pared and
-thinly sliced
Procedures:
1Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and ?cup sugar.
2Set aside.
3Combine bran flakes and milk, add egg and shortening; beat well.
4Add sifted dry ingredients; stir only until blended, but do not beat.
5Spread in a greased 8x8x2 inch pan.
6Mix together ?cup sugar and ?ts cinnamon.
7Dip apple slices in mixture; arrange on top of batter.
8Sprinkle any remaining sugar mixture over apple slices.
9Bake at 400°F about 30 minutes.
10Cut in squares and serve warm
