Procedures:
| 1 | Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. | | 2 | Beat in eggs. | | 3 | Sift next 4 ingredients. | | 4 | Add alternately with apples to egg mixture. | | 5 | Stir in lemon rind and nuts. | | 6 | Bake in greased and floured loaf pan 9x5x3 in preheated oven at 350°F for 50-60 minutes. | | 7 | Cool before slicing. |
