Ingredients:
1 lbsTop round steak, cut into
-thin
Strips
1/4 Soy sauce
2 clGarlic, mashed
1/4 cupLemon juice
2 tbspDark brown sugar
2 tbspPeanut oil
8 largeChinese cabbage leaves
1/2 cupAlfalfa sprouts
4 Green onions, minced
1/4 cupMinced cilantro
2 tbspMinced fresh mint leaves
Thai peanut sauce
1 clGarlic
1 Jalapeno pepper
1 tbspLemon juice
3 tbspSoy sauce
2 tbspWater
2 tbspPeanut butter
1 tbspDark brown sugar
Procedures:
1Combine beef, soy, garlic, lemon juice and sugar in a plastic bag.
2Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
3Drain meat and discard marinade.
4Heat oil in a wok or heavy skillet.
5Quickly stir-fry meat until browned.
6Divide cooked meat among cabbage leaves.
7Top with sprouts, onions, cilantro and mint.
8Drizzle with thai peanut sauce.
9Roll up each leaf like a burrito, folding one end over beef and rolling cabbage around filling.
10Pass extra sauce for dipping.
11Makes 4 servings.
12Sauce: puree garlic and jalapeno in a blender or food processor.
13Add remaining ingredients and process until smooth
