Bavarian patties with sauerkraut

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbsGround Beef
1/3 cupBread Crumbs, Dry
1 Egg, Large
1/2 tspAllspice
1/2 cupApplesauce
1/4 cupOnion, Finely Chopped, 1 sm.
1 tspSalt
16 ozSauerkraut, Drained, 1 can
Procedures:
1Mix all the ingredients together except the sauerkraut.
2Shape the mixture into 6 patties, each about ?inch thick.
3Brown the patties in a large skillet over medium heat, turning once.
4Drain off the excess fat.
5Spoon the sauerkraut onto the patties.
6Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes
